Story

Back in February 2019 my beautiful mum was diagnosed  with ovarian cancer, this was the most shocking news and completely knocked me off my feet. It was the news that no one wants to hear and was a game changer for us all, our family and friends were in shock!

Once the initial news had sunk in, my amazing mum decided that she wasn't going to let it beat her. She started her chemo and this took its toll on her, i knew she didn't feel well because sh had stopped singing. My mum would sing to every song that played on the radio!

Shortly after her diagnosis she decided she wanted to raise money for cancer research, her idea was to produce a calendar but not just any calendar. She wanted to produce one like the film 'calendar girls'. She rang around all her family and friends asking them to meet for the film shoot and to bring along props. Each month had mum and others posing naked with a prop to protect their modesty, and a different theme for every month with all of us in December! My mum had a great day, she was smiling again.

This is when 'Ladies that can' was established, mum wanted to raise £10k and so far, to date we have manged to raise £8k.

So to help her reach that goal i have accepted a challenge, and will climb Kilimanjaro along the Lemosho route. This will take our group 8 days to reach the summit, and the days consist of anything from 4 to 15 hours of walking uphill!

The challenge itself I am self-funding, but if I can raise some money to help my mum achieve her target then I hope it will help me  get to the summit as I am doing it for a good cause!

Thank you for reading this and helping us reach the target for 'Ladies That Can'. Together we will beat cancer.
