Story

Carl would have been 26 on Monday 24th April, 2006.  This page has been set up to receive donations for 12 months for those who would like to give money for his birthday/christmas, and so on.

Carl's partner of 10 years, Heather, organised a 5 aside tournament on the 10th September 2006 which raised a massive £5,835!  Thanks to the more than 200 people who played football, the many spectators and all those who donated prizes for the raffle.

Carl's cousin, Jim, ran the Glasgow half marathon at the beginning of September in memory of Carl and raised £561.  A huge thanks to Jim and his sore knees for his efforts.

Carl's brother, Chris, had his head and beard shaved in December 2006 raising £1,600.  This was very impressive considering he is folically challenged.  Think how much he could have raised if he actually had a full head of hair to start with.  A big thanks to his colleagues at BG for raising the money and for ridding his chin of that goatee.

Thank you to Julie Burns from the Michelle Young Dance and Drama Academy who donated the proceeds of their raffle - £301.

In April 2007, Carl's sister, Kirsten, hosted a dinner in Oran Mor.  It was a fantastically successful evening raising in excess of £21,000.  Thanks so much to all those who came along and parted with their hard earned cash.

Thank you to Conor Woods who ran the 10k raising £490.

Carl's sisters, Karen & Kirsten, did a firewalk at the West End Festival in Glasgow on Sunday 24th June, raising £400.

Heather held the 2nd annual 5 a-side tournament on Sunday 26th August 2007 raising more than £2,500.  Thank you to everyone who came along.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Scottish Association for Mental Health will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.

Please donate generously.

Many thanks for your support.  We cannot thank you enough for your very generous donations and your kind words in what has been a very difficult year.

The O'Shea family & Heather

We were recently named Big Hearted Scotland's "Fundraiser of the Year" receiving an award presented by Alex Salmond.  Watch out for us on STV on Tuesday 11th September 2007 at 7.30pm.  Thank you to everyone who has donated.  Without you, there would have been no award!
