Camino de Santiago · 20 May 2012

Families are right at the heart of Rainbow Hub. Based in Mawdesley, Lancashire, we’re a charity providing therapeutic services for children and young people with physical disabilities as a result of a neurological condition or brain injury.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be setting off on 20th May 2012 to walk the Camino, the walk is called the Santiago de Compostela which is a Christian pilgrimage that has been followed for over 1000 years.

The trek is 800km or 500 mile, it starts in France at the foot of the Pyrenees in a village called St Jean Pied de Port and finishes in Santiago de Compostela at the Cathedral where St James the Apostles bones are said to lie.

I hope to complete the walk in 30 days which will mean walking 16 miles per day.

I am completing this challenge in aid of a very special charity who’s Conductive Education services are attended by my neice Hannah who has been diagnosed with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome.  This is a very rare disease and has serious physical and developmental implications.

Please read more about Hannah by visiting her appeal page here: www.justgiving.com/HannahsAppeal
