Story

The Helping Hands Fund was set up in 2015 for the benefit of the wonderful children who are treated for cancer at Barnet Hospital’s, Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit.

As members of the Paediatric Oncology Team, we see the effects cancer has on children and their families living in our local area everyday.

With funds raised for Helping Hands we aim to provide children with the most fun and positive experience we can. Your donation to Helping Hands Fund 374 can:

• Give children with cancer at Barnet Hospital a more stimulating and positive experience• Provide family days out• Provide summer and winter parties * Hire Cinema's * Provide hospital bags for families to provide patients and parents with essentials * Provide ipads for children to use whilst in hospital• Buy additional educational resources • Pay for children’s entertainers•

Recent funds allowed us to close down Kidzania for the afternoon and invite all of our patients past and present to enjoy the day with each other. The fun and smiling faces this day provided was incredible to see. We have also created our own inflatables parties, provided pantomime trips and we hope to create bigger and better theme park days out and even overnight stays!!

Please please support us on this massive challenge to support children who are in our community to give them some sparkle in their journeys.

Your donations will come under the Royal Free Charity umbrella, but will be donated to the Helping Hands Fund, to use directly for our children.

In Helping Hands, we complete everything we do with the beautiful memories of the angels that grew their wings way too soon. They are always in our hearts and the families are forever included.

The aim of the Royal Free Charity is to support patients every step of the way to make their experience the best it can be. For each patient that need is different. The Charity provides support through trained volunteers, additional equipment, improved environments and patient based research. The Royal Free London hospital sites include Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals and includes specialist centres for rare diseases as well as general medical care.
