In the autumn and winter of 2019 we experienced the truly amazing, supportive and caring role the NHS provides.

Sadly in the autumn of 2019, we discovered a lump in Lillyanna’s jaw which was later diagnosed as a tumour - thankfully benign. However, while Lillyanna was undergoing treatment, Amelia was born early at a tiny 4lb 6 and caught bronchiolitis at only two weeks old, requiring intensive care treatment.

During this time our daughters were under the care of Royal Derby Hospital, together with Royal Stoke University Hospital PICU and the Children’s Medical Emergency Transport Team.

The staff were incredibly supportive, and we cannot thank them enough for the support and care they showed to us all.  We have chosen to support their charity during the completion of a number of runs over 2021, including:

York Inflatable 5km, Oxford Inflatable 5km (Carly with a friend), and Derby Half Marathon. The Derby Half Marathon is now only a week away!
