Story
Thanks for coming to our fundraising page. Rach and Carly are going to walk 14 walks, each one starting with a letter of "St Johns Hospice". Times are hard for everyone in lots of different ways at the moment, and fundraising is one of the things that's taken a huge hit, with so many charity events cancelled and charities losing out on vital funds to keep them going. St Johns Hospice is a charity close to our heart and a place we want to show our support to at this difficult time.
Rach's story: In February 2013 my Grandpa was taken to St Johns Hospice following a short battle with a terminal lung disease. I am not afraid to admit I was nervous about visiting him at the hospice and very unsure what to expect. I didn't need to be nervous. The staff were fantastic and the care and compassion that my Grandpa and his family received was second to none. I cannot thank the Hospice enough for what they did for us all, and for making my Grandpa's last few days comfortable, calm and peaceful.
Carly's story:
St Johns Hospice understands that outstanding care includes creating a place of warmth and compassion for patients and their family. This is why we would love to raise £14,000 to buy a cuddle bed for the patients and families we care for.A cuddle bed is designed to allow a second person to lie beside their loved one and share a cuddle and offer comfort when they need it most. The cuddle bed creates a safe space where two people can be connected and share those very precious moments together, without the physical barriers of an ordinary bed.You can help us make these cherished cuddle moments come true by supporting St Johns Hospice.*Any additional funds raised upon reaching our target will go directly towards patient care. This target includes a small margin for any additional card charges when your donation has been made to ensure we have enough funds to purchase the bed
