Tough Mudder Yorkshire 2015 · 1 August 2015 to 2 August 2015 ·

1 in 125 babies are born with CHD. CHSF supports Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, it's patients and their families. We fund lifesaving equipment, parent accommodation, staff training, and a family support service. 100% donor-funded, we can only do this with your help. Empowered lives, because of you.

Story

On 1st August Carly, Amanda, Joe and Adam will be taking part in Tough Mudder which is a 12 mile extreme obstacle course. We will be submitting ourselves to a range of cruel and unnatural punishments, from swimming through a giant vat of crushed ice to leaping through flames, wading through waist-deep liquid mud, scaling huge, greased walls and running through a jungle of dangling wires that zap us with electric shocks. The reason we are doing this is to try and raise money for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund in memory of Evie-Mae who passed away in 2013 days before her second birthday. Shortly after Evie was born we were told that she had 8 different rare, life-limiting conditions. In her short life she underwent 4 major operations, including 2 open heart surgeries in an attempt to prolong her life. Sadly her precious little body could not take any more and she passed away on 27.2.13. Evie was such a beautiful, loving and happy little girl and we would like to make her proud by raising some money in her memory and also in thanks to the amazing nurses, doctors and surgeons who saved Evie's life countless amounts of times. So please dig deep! Thank you for reading xxx
