LBDI 2022 · 17 October 2022 to 21 October 2022 ·
This week, I am thrilled to be joining the Junior League of London in its 10th Little Black Dress Initiative #LBDI. LBDI is a social media advocacy campaign, anchored in London Challenge Poverty Week, in which participants make little changes in our lives in order to bring awareness to poverty in London and raise money for the mission of the Junior League of London. The Junior League of London (JLL) is an organisation of women whose mission is to advance women's leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.
Since 2014, the Junior League of London's LBDI has raised over £150,000 to benefit local community partners and the League's outreach and volunteer training programs. The need for help is greater than ever with over 27% of Londoners living in poverty, and millions of families are struggling through financial hardship.
This year, I am one of the LBDI committee members helping to organise our campaign in the hope to make it as successful as ever. This week, I will be joining with other members of JLL to volunteer with our community partners during the week and donate clothes in our clothing drive. In addition, it might not sound like much, but I'm committing to no coffees on the go or takeout/delivery foods. Families living below the poverty line in London live on less than £5 a week. When you consider that, two days of coffees from a cafe could feed a whole family, for a week.
I hope you'll consider supporting this organisation that is so dear to my heart. Thank you!
