Join Team Alzheimer's Society at the world-famous Virgin Money London Marathon and help beat the UK's biggest killer.

Story

After many attempts I have finally secured a ballot place and will be joining thousands of others on 23 April 2023 to run 26.2 miles in the most iconic marathon in the world 🌎

My emotions have gone from shock,  surprise,  terror to 'I can do this', I got myself a running coach and my training is well underway.

I have decided to raise as much money as I can for Alzheimer's Society,  my Mum was diagnosed with this awful disease in 2017, there is no cure and as a family we have watched the strong,  confident,  fiery maltese beauty disappear, not only has she lost her future but also her past as all her memories are gone, this is heartbreaking for us all and it is true when they say you lose your loved one many times as a little piece of their personality disappears each day

Every three minutes, someone develops dementia. We can beat it, but we can't do it alone. Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted in their community. Every penny you donate is making sure we can be there for people affected by dementia.

Please donate if you can, this is the hardest physical challenge I will ever face but is nothing compared to the emotional challenge faced by those affected by Alzheimer's and their families,  please also share my story to further raise awareness

Thankyou for taking the time to read my story and wish me luck on my marathon journey 🥰
