Story

As most of you know I lost my sister and Anne lost her best friend, Beverly to cancer on the 13th July 2020.  Throughout Beverly’s fight with the disease she got a lot of help and comfort from the (NI) hospice in Belfast, doing reflexology, art and other different classes. In her last two weeks of life they gave  her the palliative care that she so needed and she wouldn’t of got anywhere else.  Last February Anne and Beverly got to spend a precious weekend together in Hope House , Islandmagee, which Beverly at the time really needed!  It gave her the relaxation and again comfort that she really needed to get through the last months.  Unfortunately I never got to share anytime with her at Hope House as she was taken into hospital and from there started to deteriorate.  She couldn’t praise both Hope House and Hospice enough.

For this reason Anne and I have decided we would like to give something back, we are going to walk/hike 5 different hills/mountains where Beverly enjoyed and regularly would have walked before her illness.  Starting with the smallest and most local (due to covid) Carnmoney hill and ending in the Mourne mountains on Beverly’s 1 year anniversary.
Don’t get me wrong we are not ready for this but we are going to give it our best shot  in memory of Beverly.  Beverly will be with us in spirit spurring us on, hopefully we will see a Robin or a white feather to let us know she is there!
Anne and I will be out hiking (no days set in stone) but if you’d like to join us on any of the hikes, drop us a message and we will keep you posted.  We have also set up a team just giving page.  Every donation given will be split between these 2 charity’s, so please even if you can spare a £1 it would be very much appreciated.  Just follow the link below.   Thank you 😊
