The Great Wall of China

Very many thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We have decided that life needs a different sort of challenge so together we will be undertaking a six day trek along the Great Wall of China.

But in order for some good to come out of this mad venture, we are walking in aid of the Meningitis Trust, who are organising the expedition and we each have to raise at least £2,850.

We leave for China next October and will walk sections of the wall between Badaling and Huangyaguan. Rest assured this is a real challenge – the wall is seriously steep in places and the trek is not for the faint-hearted.

Our charity, the Meningitis Trust, was set up to support victims of meningitis, a terrifying disease which can kill in less than four hours and tragically is most prevalent in children and young people. This was really brought home to us recently when our own children were warned about meningitis C inoculations as they commenced their university degrees; meningitis is known to strike amongst Freshers.

Donating through JustGiving is secure, and there will be no issues around selling on contact details. Once you donate, however small the amount, the site sends your money directly to the given charity, which can then reclaim the Gift Aid.
