Story

This is a fundraising and awareness raising event called A Spring in Your Step and it is based on reflecting either the journey or the challenges that torture survivors have endured.. 'Extreme Singing' is the name that has been given to our challenge to sing near or in front of iconic buildings in Lancashire.

As well as having to cross rivers and seas, many survivors have to take long journeys over land to reach safety. Our next challenge from Good Friday to the International Day of Living Together in Peace will honour those journeys and build on the brilliant success of last years Crossing Over Water Challenge.

Freedom from Torture is a British registered charity which provides therapeutic care for survivors of torture who seek protection in the UK. Since it was established in 1985, over 57,000 survivors of torture have been referred to the organisation for help and it is one of the world’s largest torture treatment centres.
