Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am walking from Winchester to Eastbourne along the South Downs Way between 6 and 10 June - a distance of over 100 miles. I wanted to do this in memory of my darling wife Carol, who died on 6 February 2021. Carol's home town was Bexhill-on-Sea on the south coast near Eastbourne and we have lived in Winchester since 2019. The South Downs Way links these two parts of Carol's life and I was inspired by her memory to undertake this walk, the longest I have ever attempted (and at the age of 72).

I have chosen the new Winchester Hospice because this is currently being developed and, when complete, will become the base of the palliative care team who provided such wonderful care for Carol in her last few weeks.
