10 years ago to the day of this challenge, we lost the heart and soul of our family. Carol Christmas began her fight against breast cancer in 2002, and was determined to under go her treatment at Addenbrooke’s Hospital due to their outstanding research and trial treatments. With this in mind, Carol had great faith and hope to beat her illness. For a further 6 years we had precious time that we will always cherish and be grateful for. Carol sadly lost her battle on May 10th 2008 leaving her loving family, Husband Martin, Daughters Danielle Jordan & Lauren, Mum Jean, Brother Ian, Niece Zoe, Nephews Craig Scott Glen & Jamie along with Brother and Sister in Law Chris and Sandra and all of her amazing friends.
A dear friend of Martin’s, Malcolm Howe, recently passed away in August 2017 following his painfully short battle with pancreatic cancer. Malcolm donated his estate to various different charities and Martin was given the opportunity to sell contents and possessions of Malcolm’s for further charitable fundraising.
In memory of Carol and Malcolm, we as a family have taken the opportunity to challenge ourselves to a 24 mile hike over the Yorkshire Moors taking in the 3 highest peaks in order to raise money for Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Our aim is to complete this within 12 hours - or at least before it gets dark! The walkers include, Martin Danielle Jordan Lauren Wendy Ian Paula Zoe Rob Jamie Chris Sandra Scott & Glen.
