Kilimanjaro Trek 2020 · 11 January 2020

Founded in 2001, we are a community project supporting migrant families working in the brick fields of the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. Working with our partners in Nepal we provide education and healthcare for child labourers and literacy and skills for adults. Our mission is to give pupils a respite from work and a quality basic education in a safe, happy environment.

Story

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Brick Children School in Nepal I’m attempting to summit the highest free standing mountain in the world : Kilimanjaro. There’s no doubt it’s going to be a tough test. Hard, long days at altitude. However your support will motivate me to keep going to help more working children into school and women into business.

It’s January and I’m mindful it’s a long month for many, I also appreciate many friends and family have supported me and the school very generously within the last year. However for those who have asked for a place to donate, thank you for your encouragement.

This trek is 100% self funded so every donation will go in full to The Brick Children School. If you are unable to donate, you may want to support in other equally important ways. You could volunteer time and skills, or like The Brick Children School Facebook page and share our posts. There are many ways we can make a difference together so do get in touch.

I will be trekking with my lovely friend, neighbour and Everest Base Camp trouper Fiona Irvine. Fiona is raising money in memory and celebration of her beautiful daughter Prim. It’s great to have a “home and an away charity ” so please help Prim’s Charities be there for other families if you can.

Diolch. Dhanyabad, thank you for taking the time to read this.

Ps The trek is being run by Aspire Adventures who will post updates on their FB page. I suspect I’ll be using every last ounce of my energy putting one foot in front of the other!
