After Matthew’s successful sponsored swim last year, where he raised just under £1400 for cancer research, Matthew wanted to take on a new challenge. This time he’ll be swimming 22 miles, the same amount as swimming the channel. Thankfully Matthew has not opted for the open water of the English Channel and will be clocking  up his lengths in the warmer waters of the Marriott Hotel’s swimming pool.

For this epic swim, Matthew will need to swim 2376 lengths of the swimming pool starting on Friday 1st March. Matthew will have to complete at least 108 lengths a week during his 2 swimming sessions to stay on target of completing 22 miles in 22 weeks. 

Matthew himself has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, diabetes & tunnel vision, yet despite this he still wants to help others. He was inspired to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis after seeing a video of Scott Mills who’s mother has this condition. He also has some friends that have been affected  by this neurological condition. 

Matthew is keen to raise as much money as possible to contribute to vital research and support to support people & their families affected by MS.
