Hi Everyone, 

What a time to be asking for money!  I'm sorry.  I really wish I wasn't having to do this.  However, times have never been tougher for small charities.  It's estimated that the current Covid-19 crisis will mean a 33-50% decrease in income for charities...right when the communities they serve need them the most. 

The outbreak of Covid-19 is particularly distressing to anyone who has breathing difficulties and relies on carers coming in and out of homes including people with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.  SMA UK needs to continue its services to ensure that people with SMA and their families are supported and that they receive up to date advice and information.  With fundraising events cancelled, raising the money to continue services is a huge challenge. 

That's why my three children will be doing Marathon in May for SMA in April!  The charity needs support right now!  And who knows if we will still be allowed out to exercise by May!  My five year and eight year old twins will cover at least two marathons each whilst I will attempt at least four but will be aiming for five.  If the Government advice changes and we can no longer leave home to exercise, we will put on a garmin/fitbit and crack on in the garden!  May need some loud music to stop us going completely mad. 

I know times are difficult and uncertain.  If you could donate what you would have spent on your daily commute or take away coffee, that would help us make a real difference.
