On Sunday the 21st of August I am taking part in the 'Monster middle' which as in it's name suggests is a middle distance traithlon in Ely, Cambs. This consists of a 1.9km river swim, followed by a 58 mile bike ride, followed by a hald marathon run (13 miles or so). I am hoping to complete this in less than 7 hours and is part of my preparation for the '2012 Lanzarote Ironman' which is double the distance of my race on Sunday, but in temperatures of over 90 degrees. I have decided to choose Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research charity as my son has a friend whose mum died of Lymhona when she was just 37 so have seen at close hand the devastation this causes.
