Story
This year, I'm planning to do all 4 Kiltwalks, along with some of my colleagues within palliative care:
June 7th 2026: Aberdeen (18miles)
Aug 16th 2026: Dundee (20miles)
Sep 13th 2026: Edinburgh (21 miles)
April (date TBC) 2027: Glasgow (22 miles)
This is a personal challenge for me and I am doing so to help raise much needed funds for Fight Against Cancer Edinburgh (FACE) and also to hopefully increase awareness of the valuable work they do in providing resources for our Palliative Care Teams across NHS Lothian, to help us support the patients and families we care for
Some of the things provided include:
• Books and cuddly bunnies to help maintain the loving bond and connection between patients and their loved ones
• Resources to help families make memories together
• Handheld fans to help keep patients cool and manage breathlessness
• Complimentary Therapy to help with wellbeing and relaxation
• A ‘wedding box’, for patients & their families, if their special day needs to be in hospital
• The transformation and upkeep of outdoor green spaces, which patients and families can enjoy
• An annual trip for children & families impacted by cancer and bereavement to meet Santa Claus in Lapland, a truly magical experience!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I really appreciate any support you are able to give me, whether this is through donation or wise words of support and encouragement!
Thank you so much,
Caroline xxx
