Along with some friends and my sister I'm doing the MacMillan South Coast Mighty Hike in June 2020. Why would someone who'd rather get an Uber than walk to the bus stop sign up to a 26 mile hike I hear you ask?! Well, Ee all know someone who’s been affected by cancer either directly, a relative or a friend. My mum had breast cancer which luckily got spotted and treated in the early stages. And Macmillan is a charity very close to my heart and want to give something back. In early 2014 my sister was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. I was petrfied that I was going to lose not only my sister, but my life-long best friend. Luckily after surgery and 5 years of check ups she's had the all-clear. She's been an inspiration to me and those around us - not only having to deal with cancer, but a hernia op, a seizure (which meant not driving for a whole year!), going through a divorce (but then meeting the wonderful Wayne!) and  getting fitter and healthier.

So I'm doing the hike is my small way of showing how proud I am of her, how thankful I am that I still have her around (most of the time!), to motivate myself to get fitter and save money on Ubers, and to give back to Macmillan who helped her so much support..
