Caroline's 10for10 - running 10km 10 times in March/April

Caroline Nokes is raising money for Romsey Cancer Support Centre - Jane Scarth House

10for10 - running 10km 10 times in March/April · 22 March 2021

Jane Scarth House is a local charity, founded in memory of Romsey Mum of two, Jane Scarth, whose family are closely involved with the charity. We provide emotional & practical support to anyone whose life is affected by cancer. This can be the person living with cancer or those who support them.

Story

My colleague Guy Opperman has challenged me to complete a personal fitness challenge this month, to raise money for a great local charity, to increase my fitness and to do something productive to get to the end of lockdown.

Having managed to get from couch to 5k since the start of the year, I decided to try something much harder and aim to run 10km.  Guy gave me the incentive to do just that!  So I am not just doing it once, but doing it 10 times (at least).

Last year my amazing friend and constituent Rachel Cardy walked over 1000 miles in lockdown, as part of Staying Strong, and she raised £1400  for Jane Scarth House.  So literally following in her footsteps, I am doing this for Jane Scarth House, although I am only running 100km in total, not 1000 miles!
