Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

Hi I am Carol Turner, married to Chris Crampton and mother of two wonderful children Joshua and Abigail.  Yes its me, and thank you so much for visiting my Justgiving Page.

For those of you who have already been badgered  by attending my fundraising event way back in June, I only mildly appologise for futher harrassment.

You know for me this is a once in a life time opportunity and what a way to raise money for a deserving charity like SENSE.  Deaf blind children and adults have an unrecognisable standard of living that we cannot imagine...its bad enought that I have to resort to reading glasses in the evening, but to lose/or never have both of your major senses is unimaginable.

Recently we had Chris's father to stay for a week while his mother went for a much needed break.  Chris's father is blind and whilst he copes amazing well, there were times when there were long silences (while we both rest or I catch up with the latest Soaps). Lucky for him he had his radio close to hand to listen to the news and catch up with the latest cricket scores!

Well, its just one week to go and so many of you have offered  to sponsor me that I thought why not set up the JustGiving site so that you can.

So, thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Many thanks,

Carol x
