On Sunday 14 May 2023 I will be taking on the challenge of running in the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon to raise as much money as I can for a charity close to my heart,, namely  the Robert Sinclair Davidson Foundation. 

The charity was set up  by Robert himself a few months before the cruel degenerative Motor Neurone’s Disease took Robert’s life at the young age of 34. Although sadly I never got to know Robert I understand he bore the physical & emotional pain of his illness with bravery & tenacity. His parents Suzanne & Michael have since become close friends of mine & my husband Richard, fighting each day to ensure their amazing son’s legacy lives on. 

The foundation provides vital support in many ways to young families in the desperately tragic situation  following a terminal diagnosis 

After running London in 2017 I vowed that would be my one & only marathon. However the combination of discovering all the amazing work of Robert’s charity,  watching MND ravage the body of the wonderful athlete Rob Burrow and through him getting a glimpse of what Robert & his family had to endure when asked by them to run the Leeds marathon how could I say no! 

So I am now clocking up the miles each week in training for one more and definitely my final marathon! Follow my journey on FB!
