Asda Foundation Leeds Half Marathon 2021 · 5 September 2021 ·
As you may be aware at 12 years old I had open heart surgery for a VSD (hole in the heart). This surgery saved my life and I have been forever grateful to the amazing surgeon (Duncan Walker) and the rest of the amazing staff that looked after me. Without these amazing people I would not be here today.
I have therefore decided that at the age of 56 it is time to give something back to the amazing charity that supports children and their families dealing with congenital heart disease. (Children's Heart Surgery Fund).
I have set myself the massive challenge of running Leeds Half Marathon. I want to be able to show all heart surgery patients that there is a future to look forward to and that you can do anything if you set your mind to it.
CHSF does some amazing work and I cant think of a better charity that I would like to raise money for. CHSF supports babies, children and adults born with congenital heart disease across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. Large or small every penny counts. CHSF is solely funded by donations.
I would therefore be really grateful if you could please sponsor me, any amount will be gratefully received. It will be the thought that your sponsor money will be going to such an amazing charity that will motivate me and keep me going.
Thank you
