David's Car Pull 24

David Cooke is raising money for Alzheimer's Society
In memory of Maurice Cooke
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Im doing this event primarily to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity and an illness which has touched the hearts of me and my family.

For me personally it’s an event in memory of my Dad who passed away in April 2020, just a day before his 80th Birthday. Dad and I shared many interests together including our love for cars.

Dad was also my biggest sporting supporter and would always come to my sporting challenges and events, from Marathon runs to Weightlifting competitions, if he was able to he would always be there.

I got the idea for this challenge after reading about an athlete who completed a car pull marathon in 2016. However, my challenge brings together mine and my Dads joint interests, a sporting challenge involving a car, over a famous motor racing distance challenge, the Le
Mans 24hrs.
