Edinburgh Marathon Festival Half Marathon 2015 · 31 May 2015 ·
There are over 2 million people living with or beyond cancer on the UK today with 1 in 3 people being diagnosed each year. When you think about these people, their family, friends, neighbours and colleagues, it's easy to see that all of us will be affected by cancer in some way.
Two years ago I suddenly lost my best friend and inspiration, my Mum, to cancer and ever since I've made it my goal to raise as much money as I can for Macmillan Cancer Support. Each year I've set myself a challenge and this year is no different. On the 31st May I will once again be dusting off those running shoes and taking to the streets of Edinburgh for this year's Half Marathon (and hoping to better my time from last year!) I'm doing this in memory of a very special person but ultimately to raise money for a very special cause.
Macmillan's aim is to reach and improve the lives of those living with cancer and inspire millions of others to do the same. They're the nurses helping people through treatment, the experts on the end of the phone, the volunteers giving a helping hand but Macmillan count on their supporters to fund 99% of their services. It's thanks to the generosity and support of the public that they are there for people as they face the toughest fight of their lives.
I'm once again asking for the support of friends and family as I take on my next challenge, so if you can spare a penny, or spare a pound I'd be very grateful. To everyone who has supported me along the way so far, I thank you - your donations and support help to make sure that no-one faces cancer alone.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Once again, thank you for your support. It means a lot :-)
