Story
We are a british charity dedicated to trying to save the lives of innocent victims of disaster, as well as relieving human suffering around the world regardless of colour, creed, religion and political persuasion. Every penny we raise is spent on Search and Rescue equipment, training and transporting the team. In addition to our international response team, we are working with countries to provide advice and training on how to cope in the initial 24 hours of the disaster. In the UK, we also have a Community Resilience Team in Avon.
I will be completing as many running challenges as I can to raise enough funds for a full International deployment of SARAID to assist others when they are in need. Every penny donated goes directly towards saving the lives of those caught up in tragic events such as earthquakes, tsunami’s and mass flooding etc.
2019 Challenge - The Forestry 100 challenge, 10 x 10K races through England's Forest's between June and December 2019 is now completed.
2020 Challenge - Running Streak - I will run at least 1 mile every day for 365 days - the amount of days SARAID is on call to help those in need anywhere in the world, all 24, 901 miles if it. I wonder how far I can get in 365 days. Where do you think I might reach? Just £1.00 for each mile I run would be £1.00 closer to helping those in need.
All I ask now is that you think about what you would want for your family, your loved ones, your friends, yourself, if caught up in a disaster. Help SARAID to help those in need, and remember, every penny you donate goes towards this. SARAID is funded by, run by, and deploys with, people like just like you.
