Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our little girl Ava aged 3 was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes...... something that has turned our world up side down.....

Ava was taken into hospital by ambulance where we all then stopped with her for 3 days her sugars were running that high...... this condition that Ava now has was more than likely the hospital have said due to a viral infection that she had recently......

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition and is where you immune system which is meant to protect you from viruses attacks and destroys the insulin producing cells in your pancreas........

Type 1 diabetes is not diet or lifestyle related..... as above it is an autoimmune condition...... nothing we could have done could have stopped this happening......

Ava hated what had happened to her at first and fought each injection which she has to have 4 times a day..... but a few weeks in and this little girl has amazed us..... she takes her finger tests and her insulin injections with minimal fuss now and understands that she has this condition.....

I cannot take away avas endless insulin injections and trips to the hospital if we could I would take it away within a heartbeat but the only thing I can now do is raise awareness of this condition and raise money to hopefully one day find a Cure for this condition......

This condition is for life...... and Ava will be insulin dependant for life now.........this is something Ava never asked for......but now as a family we have to manage it to keep her safe.

Please sponsor me to run 10k at Chatsworth House for Ava and help us fight this condition......
