I met Abi through work a number of years ago and we quickly became firm friends.  Her positivity, determination and love of life shine out of her and I've always enjoyed her company immensely.  She is such an inspiration.

I distinctly remember Abi sharing with me her news in early 2016 that she had received a diagnosis of Bowel Cancer.  She was so strong, brave and determined to fight it, it was quite an incredible thing to witness.

After chemo, radiotherapy and an operation leaving Abi with a Stoma she enjoyed a period of good health but sadly in 2018 received the devastating news none of us expected or wanted to hear.  The big C was back and this time it wasn't going to go away.

Abi has continued to be one of the bravest, most positive, hard working, determined and inspirational people I know.  And I know for a fact that my adoration of her is shared across her friends and work peers alike.

Abi is being supported on her journey by the Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading, part of Sue Ryder and after seeing the amazing level of care they gave to Abi during a respite stay in December 2018 I was inspired to do something to support their fantastic work.
