Protecting Illinois Health: COVID-19 Legal Emergency Fund

Michael Casner is raising money for Legal Council For Health Justice

Protecting Illinois Health: COVID-19 Legal Emergency Fund · 18 June 2020

We are all weathering the COVID-19 storm together, but the effects are intensified for those in our community who were already on shaky ground before this pandemic because of things like low wages. Help all Illinoisans get the care they need.

Story

People earning low incomes and marginalized communities are being hit the hardest by COVID-19. And those same communities who are most at risk are also the ones who were already struggling to make ends meet before this pandemic. By donating to Legal Council's COVID-19 Emergency fund, you make sure Illinoisans most in need during this crisis get what they need to stay healthy and safe. Legal Council helps Illinoisans like Tami and her child get the affordable health coverage they need to stay healthy during this crisis and beyond. Illinoisans like Legal Council's client Zeke, who has a chronic illness, can afford to put food on their tables because of Legal Council's public benefits advocacy. Clients like Ted, whose disabilities prevent him from working, can receive a steady income through Social Security even while government offices are closed, because of Legal Council's legal expertise.
