Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi Everyone,

A year ago, you might remember,  March 12th 2017,  Caspar and I were in the City Bowl, with bikes tuned, numbers pinned, ankles chipped, porridge eaten, and race cards ready for the starting shutes, when the message came through.  A decision had been taken by the organizers of Cape Town Cycle Tour; the wind was too extreme and dangerous for the race to take place.

Commitment, training, organising, logistics, nerves and peanut butter addiction all came to a stop before the start at that moment.

Students we had sponsored, from Makhasa High School one of Africa Foundation beneficiary schools, who had never travelled beyond their province of KZN had come a long way for this disappointment.

Chris Thomsen, fellow Trustee of Africa Foundation and Caspar’s Godfather had flown from England to race with us and we had to make our way back home working out how we fulfill the pledge to you, our incredibly generous donors!

So here we are, with our update and take two!   Counting down to riding those 109kms on Sunday 11th March!

In the meantime, Brothers Streep:  talented, funny and quite possibly the kindest band in the world have jumped in to support us. See Come Join The Ride on YouTube.

Thank you thank you for all your generosity to Africa Foundation!

With love

Jessica & Caspar
