In 2010 my mum was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. The consultant told us the treatment was a thyroidectomy and radiation therapy. This was the easy bit as the after effects of not having a thyroid are debilitating.

For the past 7 years my mum has tried various different thyroxine and alternative therapies in the hope of leading a relative normal life.

People who know me will know I don't run (or exercise for that matter!), in January I couldn't even run a mile! My aim is to just finish, even if I have to crawl over the line. I would like to raise £1310, £50 per mile, so please dig deep for a worthy cause and as an incentive to keep me going. Thank you x
