Nightingale House offers a wide range of facilities to local people and their families living with life-limiting illness. Patients come from Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire and outlying areas. In 2025 it will cost £5,603,094 million to run the Hospice - this equates to nearly £15,351 per day.

My Dad Richard was one of the nicest men I ever knew, he was known as the Gentle Giant or Big Rich due to his 6'4  frame. He was a highly skilled carpenter and to me the best dad in the world.

He got sick during the summer of 2000, and even though he felt so poorly he never really complained.  He was diagnosed with cancer around the November time and we were all told to make sure he had a really good christmas as this was to be his last. We all did our best to try and make the christmas of 2000 special for us all even though at this point my dad looked so ill and was in so much pain. He was eventually tranferred from hospital to Nightingale House Hopice in the January after being given the news he only had a couple of days left with us. When he got to the hospice he seemed to get a second wind, starting to eat and sit up and spend time with us all. This I think is due to the fantastic care, support and love that Nightingale House offers not just to the patients but also to the family. We will never be able to thank the Dr's nurses and careworkers enough for making the last week of my Dads life a bit more bearable for him and for us as a family. He stayed alive for about a week in the hospice, taking his last breath on January 31st 2001.
