Story
Friends & family – The San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is one month away (June 2) and I will be running it to help raise money to cure Huntington's disease (HD). Huntington's disease is an inherited, neurological disease that causes the progressive breakdown (degeneration) of nerve cells in the brain and has a broad impact on a person's functional abilities and usually results in movement, thinking (cognitive) and psychiatric disorders. Robbing individuals of their ability to eat, walk, talk and live a normal life.
I am running the marathon in memory of Ramona Johnston, the mother of my good friend Hayley. Ramona passed away on April 4th after battling HD for 20 years and although we can no longer push Ramona through the 26.2 mile course (as Hayley and her Dad have done many years), I will be running in her honor and memory.
Ramona, Hayley and her family have been championing the fight to cure HD since Ramona was diagnosed, please watch these powerful videos to learn more about their family's fight and fundraising efforts:

With your support, fundraising goes directly to support research to end this horrible disease which threatens future generations. Every donation counts - $5, $20 or $200 and will inspire me to keep going on race day.
Your contribution is tax deductible (Tax ID 13-3349872).
Many of you are familiar with the Johnston family and have already supported finding a cure for HD so thank you for your generosity.

With Love,
Catherine Baker
