Running for MS Trust

2022 October Cardiff Half Marathon · 2 October 2022 ·
I completed the C25k in December 2020 with the support of the then newly formed Crickhowell running club. This was my third attempt and finally have managed to make running part of my life losing 4.5 stone along the way! Those that have known me a long time will know what a lifestyle change this is for me. After completing a virtual 10k in July 2021 a friend planted a seed of a half marathon being my next challenge. I spent some months doubting myself but inpsired by two friends who have far greater challenges than me but face each obstacle with determination and a smile I have decided to give it ago and raise money to show support for these friends.
Sam, a mum of two young children has MS, this makes everyday life as a mum hard and I am in awe of how she copes. Sam introduced me to MS Trust at one of her fundraisers and explained how much MS Trust has supported her.
Rachel is a friend I worked with for many years and was diagnosed with MS in this time. Again I was in awe of how Rachel never let this get in the way of her work, she was the same fun, supportive and hard working colleague. Always the one to look after others, I don't think many people know how much effort it is for her to just be in work sometimes.
I know I will find it tough doing this half marathon but if I ever feel like giving up, I will think of these amazing women and how they keep going even when things are tough, and if I can raise some money along the way it would be fantastic.
