Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Welcome to the Team Newcastle Marie Curie Virtual Relay Just Giving page.

Between Saturday 25th and Friday 31st July Team Newcastle Marie Curie will hope to cover the distance between each Marie Curie hospice in the UK.

Your leg can be any distance, on any given day during that week. You can walk, run, bike, swim, scoot, bouncy hop, anything goes! Complete your leg alone or with family members, pets, bubble people or with other team members (so long as social distancing rules are observed).

If you would like to be involved please join up to our Facebook group 'Team Newcastle Marie Curie Virtual Relay' and let us know. If you are not on Facebook please email to: cgr4h4m@gmail.com or a text to 07954411255 to join up.

We will use these methods to collect data on how far we have managed to travel as a team.

All competitors will recieve a eco finishers medal.

Entry to this event is free, but we ask that if you can spare a little at this time that you donate through this Just Giving page.

This event is being run by nurses and staff from Marie Curie Hospice Newcastle. We have seen the impact that the coronavirus pandemic is having on fundraising opportunities for Marie Curie and we set up this event to do our bit to help raise funds and to inspire others.

I am sure if your life has been touched by Marie Curie you will understand the importance of the work we do. But if you haven't, Marie Curie is a charity that helps people with life limiting conditions. We help people live as best lives as possible with the conditions they have by providing advice on management of symptoms for example pain, breathlessness and nausea. We also provide care and support for people at the end of their lives and their families.

We do hope that you can support this event competing and donating, or by just donating and cheering us on!

Best wishes to you all 💛💙
