As Head of the St. James's Place Charitable Foundation I am inspired every day by the charities we support and fund across the UK and overseas who are doing incredible work supporting people in need.

The community of St. James's Place do an amazing job at raising millions of pounds each year that we then give out to charities through the Foundation. All the monies raised are matched so every £1 donated is doubled!

One day, a casual conversation around what unusual fundraisers could the Foundation Team get involved in resulted in me signing up along with two of my colleagues (Carole & Lauren) to do a wingwalk. My daughters Emily & Alice have also decided to join.Originally this hair-raising challenge was due to take place in April but COVID-19 stopped that so we are now scheduled to get up in the skies on 19th August.

The challenge is I really hate fairground rides - so the thought of flying around on top of a plane is really quite terrifying but I've committed to it so there's no backing out now. Ultimately though, this is about making a difference to people's lives who for one  reason or another have extra challenges/difficulties in their lives where they need support from the brilliant charities, funded by the Foundation. And that need has been heightened due to COVID-19 so an even greater need to raise money during the challenging times that the charity sector now face.

Whatever you can give will be very much appreciated and it will all be doubled through matching provided by St James's Place Plc, so the monies raised will go a lot further and help to make someone's life that bit easier.
