Action on Postpartum Psychosis supports women and families affected by Postpartum Psychosis (PP) across the UK. We provide information and peer support, facilitate research into PP, raise awareness of this rare yet severe postnatal mental illness and campaign for improved services.

Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

Having supported the charity by providing administrative assistance a few hours a week during my final year at University, I have observed first hand the incredible work of the charity Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP.) Since then, I have known that my first marathon will be in aid of this important cause.

Postpartum Psychosis is a severe illness which onsets after childbirth, symptoms of which can include hallucinations and delusions, often with mania, depression or confusion. APP work to support women and families affected by PP by providing peer support, researching and raising awareness for this rare yet severe postnatal mental illness. They also campaign for improved services to support those affected.

My aim is to raise £1000 to help APP continue their fantastic and vital work, whilst improving awareness for the charity at the same time.
