It is now becoming tradition that on World Prematurity Day the Baby Unit holds an event on the Mezzanine Floor (at the top of the escalators) at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. It is an ideal opportunity to raise funds to enhance family-centred care on the Neonatal Unit as well as being a time when many 'ex-babies' pay us a visit. All the money raised, in conjunction with Blue Skies, is used to fund projects on the unit. As 1 in 10 babies World Wide are born prematurely and others are admitted if unwell following their birth nearly everybody will know someone who has been cared for on the unit sometime over the past 20 years. In a class of 30 children it is likely that at least three children were on the unit. We care for babies across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast so you will supporting a local cause. Thank you for support.
