Christmas Truce Song · 9 December 2018

The UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, we've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, we provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I've chosen to donate to and raise money for Combat Stress – a charity that helps veterans suffering from military Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, which is a cause close to my heart. We rarely hear about it, but it's a brutal reality for many ex-servicemen and women and their families.

In 2004 I wrote a song about the Christmas Truce of 1914, during World War One. In 2014, friends asked me to upload it to YouTube for the centenary of the truce. It's since had 20,000 views, so I decided to try and do some good with it.

You can see a beautiful version of the song as recorded by the US Army Field Band here, and listen to my original version here.

If you'd like to download it (free) you'll find it here

Thank you! I wish you a peaceful Christmas.
