The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

Jon, James and I would like to raise money for Cancer Research UK. In 1979, we sadly lost my dad.to cancer. I was 7 and my sister was 5 years old, it was devastating at the time for everyone close to us, particularly my mum.  Other members of our family have also been affected over the years but fortunately recovered.

So many people are still affected but the research and treatments available since then mean that many cancers, like the one that affected us, are now treatable and people recover. Many events like the VLM have been cancelled due to COVID-19 which means that funding for charities such as Cancer Research UK are being hit hard  they are appealing for our help! If you can give a little bit of something to them or any other charity close to you that would be great -  thank you!

I was due to run the VLM this year but had deferred to 2021 and so my training is in its VERY early days, however, I’m going to give the 2.6 challenge a go ... it won’t be easy, I am very nervous and it’s going to hurt 🤦‍♀️ ... Jon and James may find the distance a bit easier but 26 days will be the challenge for them but they are up for it! Many friends and pupils from the school I work at are also ‘having a go’ and so I’m hoping this page will become a group effort where I’ll post everybody’s achievements ! (All activities in line with current government guidelines surrounding daily exercise !)

Good Luck 😍
