Story
In July I will be cycling 300 miles from Lingfield, Surrey to Roubaix, France via the French and Belgian WW1 battlefields over 4 days, raising money in support of Action Medical Research. This is my third time taking part in this ride to support the important work of Action who have been funding medical breakthroughs for over 70 years. An area of their focus is fighting rare diseases in children (see this link: https://action.org.uk/appeals/fighting-rare-diseases). 30% of children with such diseases don’t reach their 5th birthday, a statistic which has struck me this year as my precious son recently turned 5. So this year my training has been motivated by fundraising in support of those children and families for whom this research will support changing that sobering statistic for the better.
