Clearwater International is fundraising for the next phase of the Khaya project in Orange Farm, near Johannesburg. The team will visit South Africa in October to help with building the community centre.

Story

I am fundraising for the Footprint Foundation which aims to tackle the problems and issues facing disadvantaged and vulnerable young and elderly people, and those people with significant health issues throughout the UK and the world.

Clearwater International has partnered up with the charity to help with transforming a derelict building into a new multi- service community centre, the fourth centre of this kind created by the charity. The centre will act as a hub for the community, where hundreds of people in need will be fed, schooled and provided with essential healthcare, making a real impact on people’s lives in an area subject to high levels of deprivation and social challenges.

Dependent on funds I raise, I may have the opportunity to travel to Orange Farm in Johannesburg, South Africa this Autumn to help with applying the finishing touches to the community centre such as painting, gardening, fencing etc.

With this in mind,  I will by taking part in the Manchester 10K in May as well as doing an 8 mile sponsored barefoot walk across Morecambe Bay in July.

I need your help to raise as much funds as I can! So please donate as much or as little as you can spare, and any help will be really appreciated!

About the charity

The Footprints Foundation aims to tackle the problems and issues facing disadvantaged and vulnerable young and elderly people, and those people with significant health issues. We aim to support these people during the most trying periods of their lives and help give them the strength and confidence to enjoy a fulfilled life. Our aim is to support through volunteering and hands on help rather than solely providing financial support.
