Event: Kidneys for Life Morecambe Bay Walk, on 10 June 2023
Participants: Michelle, Sharon, Susan, Michelle & Rachael.
Famed for its wide, stunning views and treacherous shifting sands, on Saturday June 10th 2023 we will be guided by Michael Wilson- the official guide of the Guide over Sands Trust - across the 8 miles from Arnside to Grange over Sands.

Story

Just over 20 years ago I received a kidney transplant which transformed my life.  Myself and my sister Simm’s are walking the Bay together to celebrate those years and raise money for a great charity.  As you can see our walks normally involve picnics, Prosecco and lots of laughs!

A large number of the population have chronic kidney disease and this is only going to get worse as we put on weight and live longer. Whilst it is more likely to affect you when you get older, all ages are at risk and can develop kidney failure needing dialysis and possibly a kidney transplant. We are looking for kidneys to last a lifetime with our research.
