One of the great passions in Cathie's later years was to raise awareness of the burden of debt that third world countries carry, and the terrible injustice of people with very little paying huge amounts to wealthy countries and institutions in service of debts to aid 'development'. Cathie worked tirelessly to convince everyone she knew or met of the injustice and obsecenity of this situation. In her memory, many people have already donated to the group she worked with to campaign for debt relief and trade justice.
