This is my first time participating in the All Trails Challenge which is in its sixth year. It is the major fund-raiser for the Friends of the Wissahickon, an organization devoted to the preservation of Wissahickon Valley Park. This event challenges the participants to explore the 50 miles of trails and solicit donations to maintain them. I am doing this in honor of my husband Gerry who suffered a heart attack in 2019 while leading his annual day-after-Thanksgiving hike on trails less traveled. My 100 miles is a fraction of what he covered every month. The park was his second home; the FOW staff and volunteers and Trail Ambassadors his second family. Thank you for visiting my page. Thank you for your support. And most of all, thank you for remembering Gerry in this way.
