Story

STOP PRESS  -  25th April Latest News Update  -

I am proud to say that all three of us completed our swim on Sunday 25th April.  Cathy puffed and spluttered her way through to achieve 200 lengths, but the real heroes of the day were Gina and Oliver the two nine year olds who spurred each other on to achieve many more lengths, than their previous personal bests.

Oliver completed an amazing 70 lengths

                                 and

Gina completed an awesome 110 lengths.

I am incredibly proud of both children who were completely exhausted at the end of the swimathon.  thank you to everyone who has supported us. -  Cathy.

                                        ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please support our swim in aid of Bromley Autistic Trust.

We have raised £1200 to sponsor an autism-friendly christmas party for children who typically don't get invited to parties.

Oliver (age 9) will be attempting to swim 10 lengths (a personal best by far if he achieves it).

Gina (age 9) will be attempting to swim 25 lengths ( a personal best if she achieves it)

Cathy will be attempting to swim 5000m - that's 200 lengths within the 2 hour time limit.

Please do not underestimate the scale of this challenge.  Neither Cathy nor Oliver are natural athletes, as evidenced by Oliver's latest school report in which his Rugby teacher says :-

'Oliver's tactic is to stay as far away from the ball as is physically possible without leaving the pitch!'

Different sport - Same attitude, so this swim will be involve a huge effort and its a good thing that we have Gina on board too as she is our family friend and an aspiring Olympian.

We are all passionate supporters of Bromley Autistic Trust who were there when Cathy and Paul needed them.

We are trying to sponsor an autism-friendly christmas party for children who typically don't get invited to parties.

Small donations are very welcome.  If you can't afford to donate, then thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and please just wish us luck.

Cathy and Oliver and Gina.
