Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon 2020 · 8 March 2020 ·
I am taking part in the Cambridge half marathon in aid of Mind, there were a list of very worthy charities but Mind for me stood out, this is something that effects everyone around us, both directly or indirectly, we can all relate to 'good days and bad days' and trust me ive had my fair share of both.. but running for me is my 'me time', i can just switch off for a little while and clear my mind, its mad but running really does keep me sane! Ive always enjoyed running, but when i fell pregnant with my boys i unfortunately suffered with spd during both pregnancies, i tried to get back running but i always struggled to get the distance again. I tried to go alone and i use to push myself too far too soon, so signed up to a C25K group, i told my family my plans and they were happy for me starting up again. I told my nan i had a 5k booked and i was wanting to do a 10k and a half within the year, and one day a full marathon, a few months later before I'd even done the 5k race, we lost my nan. Heart broken doesn't even come close. One of the last things i spoke to my nan about was my running, so now i want to keep running, my way of doing it in my nans memory and making my nan proud. And what better way to raise money for such a good charity than to run and also be boosting my own mental health in the process!!
💙💙💙
Any donations will be greatly recieved, we all know someone who is fighting a hidden battle with mental health, please help me reach my target while i get out there and complete my first ever half marathon!!
Thank you, you beautiful humans 💙
