1.2 Challenge
Campaign by OCD UK (RCN 1103210)
The 1.2 challenge is a fun and simple walking challenge to walk an extra 1.2 miles every day for 30 days. This will help boost participants physical & mental well-being. Funds raised by the challenge will ensure we can be there for the 1.2% with OCD.

Story

We are here for the estimated 1.2% of people living with and affected by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) here in the UK. We are here to support people through the difficult times, right through to recovery and everything in between, we are OCD-UK. Uniquely, the charity is completely service-user led, everyone involved in the organisation have personal experience of OCD, either directly or through a loved one.

My story: I was diagnosed with OCD in November 2016. The reality is that I was ill for a long time before that. The intrusive thoughts and compulsions can make simple tasks feel impossible. It can take me to a dark place and make me feel useless and helpless. Like many, my mental health has taken a hit due to covid; I felt safe and well in my home during lockdown, I even got a little break from OCD but coming back into the big bad world has been tough. I am lucky. I have great people in my life and this year I found OCD UK. Their help has played a huge role in keeping me focused during this time. For the first time in 4 years I understand OCD and actually believe recovery is possible. The charity have only set a goal of £36 for this challenge but these amazing people deserve far more. Please help me make that happen.
