I'm hosting a virtual Mighty Quiz for Alzheimer's Research UK.

As most of you will know dementia is a massive part of my family's life right now and has been for almost 2 years. Dementia is a term for many different memory problems that covers an umbrella of hundreds of illnesses & diseases. Alzheimer's is one of the most common forms of dementia. Alzheimer's Research are dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and hopefully one day, a cure!

The Mighty Quiz is Alzheimer's Research UK's fundraising quiz and its the perfect way to virtually bring together family, friends and colleagues for a night of trivia and challenges to raise money for dementia research.During this unprecendented time, this is a perfect way for us all to connect, whilst also having fun (laughing at me because I don't like being centre of attention & will get it all wrong!) - and what better way than to sharpen our trivial knowledge? :) I'm looking to do this on Zoom!

Here's some examples below of what different donations can fund, which are similar prices to a drink/round of drinks at your usual pub quiz. Feel free to share this and add the text to a Just Giving page if you’d like.

• £2 will pay for one of our GP mailing packs, getting the latest dementia information out into the community and helping families understand more about coping with the condition.
• £2.60 will allow researchers to extract DNA from blood, helping to identify new risk genes for diseases like Alzheimer’s and providing vital clues for treatment development.
• £5 can help run our Dementia Research Infoline, supporting callers who want to know more about dementia and helping them to take part in dementia research.
• £10 will buy slides for scientists to study 100 samples under the microscope helping them to focus in on the molecular detail of what causes dementia – crucial for developing new treatments.

I'd like to suggest a donation of £5 per person entering the quiz, however any donation would be greatly appreciated.
